About the Musical:
James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim take everyone's favorite storybook characters and bring them together for a timeless, yet relevant, piece... and a rare modern classic. The Tony Award-winning book and score are both enchanting and touching. The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone's wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results. One of Sondheim's most popular works, Into the Woods is a musically sophisticated show with the opportunity to feature actors adept at dark comedy.
Audition Dates (By Appointment Only):
Sunday, March 22 (12-4 pm)
Tuesday, March 24 (6-9 pm)
Thursday, March 26 (6-9 pm)
All auditions, rehearsals, and performances will be at Drew Methodist Church, 28 Gleneida Avenue, Carmel, New York, 10512. Video auditions will be accepted, but the auditioner must provide their own accompaniment. All video submissions must be submitted to btcintothewoods@gmail.com on or before Sunday March 22.
Please complete the Into the Woods Audition Form, then email btcintothewoods@gmail.com for an audition time slot. Your audition will not be scheduled until the form is completed. Video submissions will not be accepted without the completed form. Please allow up to 48 hours to receive an audition slot. Audition sign-ups will close Thursday, March 19.
Callback Date (By Invitation Only):
Saturday, March 28 (1-4 pm)
Actors receiving a callback will be notified after the Thursday, March 26 audition timeslot.
Audition material must be memorized. It is recommended callback material be memorized.

Performance Dates:
Actors must be available for all performance dates.
- Friday, July 17 at 7:30 pm
- Saturday, July 18 at 7:30 pm
- Friday, July 24 at 7:30 pm
- Saturday, July 25 at 7:30 pm
- Sunday, July 26 at 2:00 pm
- Friday, July 31 at 7:30 pm
- Saturday, August 1 at 7:30 pm
- Sunday, August 2 at 2:00 pm
In addition to Performance Dates listed above, actors will be expected to attend:
- Tech Week (Saturday July 11 through Thursday July 16)
- At least one Scene Shop Saturday (10 am – 1 pm: 5/23, 5/30, 6/6, 6/13, 6/20, 6/27)
- Strike (August 2 immediately following the 2 pm show)
Typical rehearsal schedule * :
Monday, Wednesday, Thursday (7:30 – 9:30 pm), and Sunday (1-4 pm).
Rehearsal date range is April 8 through July 9 (not including Tech Week)
*Not every actor will be needed for every rehearsal.
