How to become a Five-Year Pillar of the Arts

For 25 years, The Brewster Theater Company (BTC) has provided outstanding theater to our community and we have been rewarded with enthusiastic and sold-out audiences.  Our hundreds of volunteers who direct, produce, act, sing, play music, build sets, and work our ticketing and front of house have built a community theater experience second to none.

Because of our explosive growth, we ask you to support us as we transition to our next phase.

Our current location can only offer us a limited number of hours and space due to their existing needs.  For this reason, we are seeking a long-term space to create, grow, dream, and build upon our many successes.

Our transition to a new space will require us to raise $500,000 over the next five years.  Securing these funds will allow us to begin our search and pursue a suitable property that provides enough space to perform, grow, and thrive.  Having these funds available also provides us an opportunity for many matching grants.

A theater is a unique building.  It requires enough height and width to accommodate our exquisite sets on a stage with lighting and sound. It must also allow for ample parking and be large enough to make it comfortable for all.  To raise a curtain and create an artistic location will require a generous community that partners with us to achieve these goals.

The building we seek will be within eastern Putnam County of at least 4,000 square feet of space with a minimum occupancy of 125 people.

To raise the funds we are looking for your one-time donation or a five-year Pillar of the Arts annual commitment.

How will the capital campaign funds be used?

DONATE TO OUR RAISE THE CURTAIN CAPITAL CAMPAIGN

The Pillar of the Arts commitment would be the total amount you want to donate over the five years. Brewster Theater would bill you in annual installments.  You would submit a non-binding document that indicates your pledge for the total amount.  A copy of the agreement is below.

Five-year commitments would be recognized in our playbill at the full five-year amount pledged. Each level has different benefits, but most importantly, reaching our goal would allow our theater to produce shows for decades to come. Your commitment to our theater for five years provides the capital needed to plan, build, and grow.

All funds raised through the five-year Pillar of the Arts program will be used solely for our capital campaign. For annual donations will have a portion be used for our current expenditures.

Drew Methodist has tripled our rent and reduced our hours. As a result, we will be leaving the Theater at Drew at the end of our 2025 season.

Our goal is to find a long-term home for Brewster Theater, which will be a new building or a long-term lease. Your help is needed.

Our goal is $150,000 in the next six months, and $500,000 over the next five years. These funds will be used to create a new home for

The Brewster Theater Company.
