Brewster Theater Company is located at
The Theater at Drew Methodist Church at 28 Gleneida Avenue in Carmel, NY.
Six teams will start making six brand new 10 minutes plays starting on Friday night and their full production will be performed on Saturday, January 17th at 7:30 PM. Come see what all the madness creates!
All participants are asked to bring one interesting prop. Please do not bring anything of significant value or fragility. Your yet-to-be-written play will be based around this prop piece and the prop pieces of your randomly-assigned partners!

Writer (6 roles available): An exciting and challenging role! Your job is to spend the night writing a brand-new play (10 pages/10 minutes max) based on your brainstorm session with your team, use of your team’s props, and event-specific prompts. You and the other writers will join an overnight Zoom call with the Overnight Producer to encourage each other and offer moral support. You are not required to attend the rehearsal process the next morning (get your sleep then!), but can if you’d like later in the day.
Anticipated time commitment: 7:30 PM Jan 16 through 6:00 AM Jan 17
Director (6 roles available): Brainstorm ideas with your team. Read the play the morning of rehearsals. Run rehearsals with your actors. Blocking within guidelines set by event (available light cues, set pieces, etc). Help actors memorize their lines. Anticipated time commitment: 7:30 PM - 8:30 PM Jan 16 and 8:00 AM - 9:00 PM Jan 17.
Stage Managers (6 roles available): Help Producer with set-up and check-in at Meet &Greet. Work with assigned teams to keep them on tight rehearsal time. Communicate any tech needs to the Producer. During performances, help set up the performance area in between each show during tech rehearsal and performances.
Anticipated time commitment: 6:30 PM - 9:00 PM Jan 16 and 8:00 AM - 9:00 PM Jan 17.
Actor (24 roles available): Brainstorm ideas with your team. Commit to trying your hardest to memorize a show! Help your scene partner memorize the script. Have fun!
Anticipated time commitment: 7:30 PM - 8:30 PM Jan 16 and 8:00 AM - 9:00 PM Jan 17.
Light/Sound Board (2 roles available): Previous experience running our light or sound board preferred. Will have minimal design responsibilities, help run these boards during tech rehearsal for all shows, and run the board for performances.
Anticipated time commitment: 12:00 PM - 9:00 PM Jan 17.

Group 1 performance starts exactly 24 hours from start of Friday’s meeting.
Tickets are non-refundable. In the event you cannot make the show you may use them for another show for up to one year depending on show availability. Email BoxOfficeBTC@gmail.com within 10 days after the show date to establish a future credit.

And you can be a part of it! First timer? Seasoned performer? All skill levels are welcomed to participate. The only requirement is that you give it your best shot!
