New Theater Update!
The Carmel Zoning Board approved our project with a parking contingency. We are working with a community partner to provide the necessary space. We are so close to a fully approved project! Please continue to support us — Donate, Volunteer, or Sponsor us!

As many of you know, we purchased 69 Gleneida Avenue in Carmel in February, 2026. We have been hard at work with the Town, architects, engineers and others to gain the approvals needed to turn a former restaurant into a 100-seat theater. The task is daunting for any business, but even more ambitious for an all-volunteer organization that relies on our audiences, donations and generosity of our strong theater community.
On August 27th, there was a public hearing regarding numerous variances required before the Town of Carmel Zoning Board to proceed with the transition. We received almost 50 letters of support for our project. This included almost every surrounding business for this project, Putnam County Economic Development, patrons and volunteers. Many of you attended the meeting and showed the Board the strength and commitment of our organization.
Our thanks to the many partners who are working with us to make this a reality. Your generosity and support have been continuous and inspiring.
Last night, the Zoning Board approved our project with a parking contingency. The contingency required us to gain a permanent easement for 34 parking spaces. A community partner in which we arranged a partial parking agreement has stepped forward to publicly support our project and provide us with the necessary easement for the required number of parking spaces. They are an angel on our shoulders. We are working with them to solidify the legal agreement.
We are closer than ever to achieving final approval. We hope to have only one more meeting before the Planning Board to gain full approval and begin the renovating process.
