The One and Only Santa Claus isn’t your standard Christmas play. It is a
series of sketches around the house, the neighborhood and the North Pole
about a TV crew trying to find Santa for a photo-op and an interview. The
crew of adults never does get to see him but the kids in the audience, big
ones as well as little ones, see him many times. The adult TV people do
get very close to Santa at the end and, instead of an interview, get the
Christmas Spirit.
With a list of characters that includes Yul Tide, Chrystal Flakes, Winter
Von Derland and Mary Christmas and the bumbling interplay among them and
the TV crew members, the play is a joyful, funny way to celebrate the
Christmas Season. The cast is made up of both local adults and children.
After all, someone had to play Santa’s elves!
Directed by Vicky Barbalato and produced by Nancy D'Angelo, the holiday
production features actors from Brewster and the surrounding area.
