Brewster Theater Company
Presents David Lindsay-Abaire’s
Off-beat Comedy -- “Wonder of the World”
Play Exposes Hidden Fetish, Marital Crisis and a Woman’s Comic Odyssey
Toward Finding Her True Self

BREWSTER, NY – The Brewster Theater Company announces
its presentation of David Lindsay-Abaire’s play, “Wonder of the World,” at the
Henry H. Wells Middle School in Brewster, NY. Show dates are May 12th, 13th,
19th, and 20th. Curtain is at 8pm each night.
The off-beat comedy deals with Cass, a woman who suddenly learns that
her husband, Kip, has a dirty little secret -- one that begs the question, "Who
is this person sleeping next to me?" Cass’ journey for answers takes her to --
and over -- Niagara Falls, as she encounters a hilarious cast of characters
along the way. Martha Liebowitz stars as Cass, the disillusioned and wacky
wife, and Ryan Dietzen as Kip, her secretive husband. In her journey, she meets
the suicidal Lois (Lori Franzese), a detective couple (Kip Jones and Debbie
Levin), Captain Mike (Paul Stein), and the famous, but troubled, McShane sextuplets
(Kimberly Bunkley).
Directed by Regina Sweeney and produced by Ryan Dietzen, the play
deals with adult themes that are not suitable for children under 17.
“Wonder of the World” is a show we’ve been looking at for quite some
time, and this year the timing was right,” said Regina Sweeney, the show’s
director. “We’ve been observing a trend among other local theater companies in
Putnam, Westchester and nearby Connecticut, where off-beat newer plays are
drawing enthusiastic crowds. We are anxious and delighted to broaden
our productions to feature more shows, like “Wonder of the World”.
